Bremer, Morgan Named Top 100 College Prospects For MLB Draft

Perfect Game released it's top college prospect list for the 2017 MLB Draft and a couple of Huskies made the top-100. Junior pitcher Noah Bremer is considered the No. 89 draft-eligible prospect while junior catcher Joey Morgan landed a spot at No. 100. 

Looking down the road, sophomore Willie MacIver is the 76th overall prospect for the 2018 MLB Draft by Perfect Game

Bremer, a 6-foot-4, 190-pound right hander from Berkeley, Calif., was 2016 Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 after throwing a team-high 102 2/3 innings and posting a 4-5 record with a 2.98 ERA. He tied for second in the Pac-12 with 16 starts, ranked sixth in innings pitched and tied for third with 24 strikeouts looking. Overall, Bremer held opponents to a .234 batting average and struck out a team-best 66 batters, while walking 30. 

Morgan was 2016 All-Pac-12 after hitting .263 in 56 games (50 starts) with six home runs and 29 RBI's. He led the team with 12 doubles and was second in home runs, RBI's and extra-base hits. The Sisters, Ore. native is also considered one of the Pac-12's best defensive catchers.

MacIver hit .315 in limited action as a true freshman in 2016. He made 15 starts and saw action in 28 games. The Pleasant Hill, Calif. native will see an increased role in 2016 and has the diversity to play both catcher and third base.
